A new mystery featuring The War Doctor from Doctor Who is now available for preorder from Big Finish.
Big Finish Productions has announced a new audio adventure available for pre-order ahead of its May release, aimed at fans of the War Doctor. Titled The War Doctor Rises: Fallen Heroes, the story shifts focus from the Daleks and Gallifrey to the remote planet of Falk, where the mayor becomes entangled in a mysterious murder, with someone referred to as the ‘Doctor’ involved.
The expansive Time War influenced every planet, regardless of whether its inhabitants were aware of it. In this three-part mystery, written exclusively by Alfie Shaw, the impact of the war on the isolated planet of Falk is explored, bringing about changes that will alter their lives forever.
In the first chapter, Galactic Investigations Bureau Agents Smith and Tickson arrive in the coastal town of Oakview, where they confront the murder of the mayor. The intriguing aspect of the case is why the killer chose to draw a clock around the victim’s body.
Chapter two sees the detectives delve into connections between the now infamous ‘Clock Face Killer’ and a previous unresolved case. The outcome of their investigation hinges on resolving one crucial question: Who is the Doctor?
Will the agents crack the case in Chapter three? Will they uncover the answer to their pivotal question? To discover the resolution, be sure to pre-order this exciting audio adventure.
Agent Wyatt Smith is portrayed by Jonathon Carley, while Agent Louise Tickson is played by Daisy Ashford. They are joined by Christopher Naylor, Kerrie Taylor, and Ian Conningham.

While there’s a murder to investigate, the emphasis is more on how the crime impacts those involved, rather than a traditional Christie-style whodunnit. I aimed for it to feel almost detached from Doctor Who, and the necessity for it to revert back to Doctor Who is what complicates matters for everyone.”
The War Doctor Rises: Fallen Heroes is available for pre-order at £19.99 for the download, or £24.99 for the digital download along with a limited edition CD Box Set. A bundle with the second The War Doctor Rises box set set for 2025 can be pre-ordered for £38 for the download or £47 for the download and limited edition CD box sets.
