
First Trailer Released for Michael Shannon’s Directorial Debut, Eric LaRue, Featuring Judy Greer and Alexander Skarsgård.
After collaborating with directors like Werner Herzog, Sidney Lumet, William Friedkin, Guillermo del Toro, Rian Johnson, Jeff Nichols, and many others, Michael Shannon ventured into directing a few years back. His film, Eric LaRue, which is based on Brett Neveu's play that first premiered in 2022, is set to hit theaters on April 4 and will be available digitally on April 11. Leading up to the release, Magnolia Pictures has unveiled the film's first trailer, featuring Judy Greer, Alexander Skarsgård, Alison Pill, Paul Sparks, and Tracy Letts.
The synopsis states: “In ERIC LARUE, Janice (Greer) grapples with the aftermath of her son murdering three classmates. Struggling to navigate life in a fog, she finds it difficult to release her anger and frustration. While her husband (Skarsgård) seeks comfort in a new church, Janice struggles to find peace in her faith, despite her pastor's urging to confront her pain by meeting the mothers of her son's victims. As Janice considers what such a meeting might mean for her and her community, ERIC LARUE invites viewers to observe the complex emotional fallout that can arise from acts of violence.”
