Magnolia Pictures has unveiled a poster and trailer for "Eric LaRue," the directorial debut of Michael Shannon.

Based on Brett Neveu’s 2002 play of the same name, the film features Judy Greer as Janice, a mother who grapples with her faith while dealing with the aftermath of her son killing three of his classmates.

The cast also includes Alexander Skarsgård, Alison Pill, Paul Sparks, and Tracy Letts. You can watch the trailer below…

In "ERIC LARUE," Janice (Greer) is dealing with the repercussions of her son murdering three of his high school peers. She struggles to navigate life in a fog and finds it difficult to release her anger and frustration. While her husband (Skarsgård) seeks solace in a new church, Janice struggles to find comfort in her faith, despite her pastor urging her to heal by meeting the mothers of her son's victims. As Janice contemplates the potential impact of such a meeting on herself and her community, "ERIC LARUE" prompts viewers to observe the emotional turmoil that violent actions can create.

"Eric LaRue" will be released in theaters on April 4th, followed by a digital release on April 11th.
