Colin Farrell isn't in a hurry to start a second season of The Penguin.
As Colin Farrell scoops up numerous awards for his performance as The Penguin, enhanced by prosthetics, he continues to create distance from a potential second season of the praised Batman spin-off.
In an interview backstage after his recent victory at the SAG Awards, Farrell shared with Variety, “I don’t want it. I don’t not want it,” when questioned about a second season. “We all put our all into those eight hours. It would be disappointing, simply due to the so-called success, to return and produce a lesser version of what people seem to appreciate, for the most part. So I’m in no hurry. I don’t have a strong desire to pursue it… Certainly, if they come up with something that fits well alongside Matt Reeves’ cinematic universe and it’s a solid idea, I’m open to it. But it’s not something that’s on my mind.”
Farrell has previously discussed the strains his heavy make-up has caused him, so it's understandable that he hesitates to immediately don the Oswald Cobblepot costume again. He has mentioned that he has committed to three Batman films, and although there are rumors about his potential involvement in the sequel, he isn’t certain if he will appear in the second installment by Matt Reeves, which has now been delayed to October 1, 2027.
