Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith is scheduled for a re-release to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
This summer marks the 20th anniversary of *Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith*, the concluding film of the Prequel Trilogy that illustrates Anakin Skywalker's descent into the Dark Side and his transformation into the legendary Darth Vader. To commemorate this milestone, Lucasfilm will re-release the film for a limited one-week run in April at select theaters worldwide.
Debuting in 2005, *Revenge of the Sith* completed George Lucas’ *Star Wars* prequels and featured Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, and Natalie Portman in the roles of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Padmé Amidala, respectively. The film followed Obi-Wan and Anakin during the final stages of the Clone Wars, focusing on Anakin’s growing bond with Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, which ultimately led to the Jedi Order's downfall and Anakin's own moral decline.
*Revenge of the Sith* is often regarded not only as the finest of the prequels but also as one of the best films in the *Star Wars* saga. Both McGregor and Christensen have become fan favorites and recently reprised their roles in the Disney+ series *Obi-Wan Kenobi*, with Christensen also appearing as Anakin in *Ahsoka*.
The re-release is set to begin on April 25th for one week only in select theaters and will be available in various formats, including 4DX screens. Lucasfilm has commissioned a new poster from Matt Ferguson, showcasing several iconic moments from the film with Darth Vader’s mask prominently featured.
