Prepare for a Supernatural reunion as Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins are confirmed to join their fellow actor Jensen Ackles in the fifth and final season of The Boys.
The Boys, based on the comic series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, was developed for Amazon Studios by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke. Months ago, Kripke hinted at including Padalecki in the show's last season, and it has now been officially confirmed along with Collins’ participation. Ackles, on the other hand, became part of the series in its third season portraying Soldier Boy.
The three previously starred together in The CW’s Supernatural, where Ackles and Padalecki led the show throughout its 15 seasons, while Collins joined as the angel Castiel in the fourth season, assisting Sam and Dean Winchester in their quest to save the world from various supernatural threats. They announced the news via an Instagram video, initially hinting at a potential Supernatural continuation before confirming their participation in The Boys.
Currently, details about Padalecki and Collins’ specific roles are being kept secret, but they will join new characters played by Daveed Diggs (Hamilton) and Mason Dye (Stranger Things) in the final season of the Amazon series. More information regarding their characters or any additional new cast members is awaited.
The Boys features a cast that includes Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, Cameron Crovetti, Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
