Is Charli XCX going to introduce BRAT to The Chronicles of Narnia?

      After taking over 2024 with her successful album BRAT, Charli XCX is making waves in Hollywood, and one of her upcoming projects might involve a significant role in a highly-anticipated film adaptation of a beloved book series.

      Greta Gerwig (Barbie) is developing her version of The Chronicles of Narnia for Netflix. Although specifics have been closely guarded, Deadline suggests that the British artist may have a pivotal part in Gerwig’s vision.

      Though the casting has not been officially announced, reports indicate that Charli XCX is being considered for the role of Jadis, The White Witch. Tilda Swinton famously portrayed this character in the 2005 film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and reprised her role in its two sequels, Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

      While Charli XCX has yet to appear in a feature film, she made a notable impression as a guest host and musical performer on a recent Saturday Night Live episode. She is also set to feature in upcoming films directed by Cathy Yan (The Gallerist), Romain Gavras (Sacrifice), and Gregg Araki (I Want Your Sex).

      Coming off a remarkable 2024, Charli's album BRAT topped trends and won several Grammys at this year's awards. Gerwig previously collaborated with the singer on Barbie, which included Charli XCX's original song “Speed Drive” on its acclaimed soundtrack.

      Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia is scheduled for an exclusive two-week IMAX worldwide release for Thanksgiving 2026, followed by availability on Netflix. Stay tuned for further updates.
