With the release of Dune: Awakening scheduled for May 20th, Funcom has unveiled a new video that offers a glimpse into the world of Arrakis, highlighting the planet's vastness and diversity. Check out the video below to delve into this desert environment.
Although Arrakis is considered a desert planet, it actually features a surprising range of variations. Players will have the opportunity to explore their surroundings using personal scanners and vehicle modules to uncover local resources, or by ascending high peaks to launch survey probes that will map out extensive areas and identify points of interest like shipwrecks and ecological labs.
Arrakis is a captivating world that lures adventurers with the promise of wealth and power from its precious Spice resources, while also posing threats such as deadly planetary storms that alter the landscape, revealing new resources and locations while burying the old. Players can explore this land and create maps to sell on the Exchange to other players.
Dune: Awakening transports players to Arrakis, the most perilous planet in the Dune universe. On this treacherous world, players will encounter not only scorching deserts and menacing Sandworms but also extraordinary beauty. To thrive, players must establish their influence over the planet by building vast bases, managing the Spice supply, and defeating rivals in combat.
Players can access Arrakis on May 20th. The Character Creator & Benchmark Mode is available for download on Steam now, allowing players to prepare their characters in advance of the launch.
