The B-Side – Amy Irving and Peter Riegert Discuss Crossing Delancey

Welcome to The B-Side! Here, we chat with movie stars about beloved films and the lesser-known treasures they've created!

Conor and I had the pleasure of speaking with Amy Irving and Peter Riegert during the Criterion release of Joan Micklin Silver’s Crossing Delancey. We delve into the film's legacy nearly four decades later. With Irving, we discuss Honeysuckle Rose, Carried Away, and her latest music album. With Riegert, we explore Chilly Scenes of Winter (also directed by Micklin Silver), the feature film he directed called King of the Corner, and the diverse array of characters he has portrayed throughout his career.

We also touch upon Steven Soderbergh’s body of work (both actors appeared in Traffic!), discuss the directorial debuts in which Riegert starred (specifically Infinity and Jerry & Tom), and reflect on how they've both evolved as performers over the years.
