Rupert Friend is set to appear in the serial killer thriller The Edge of Normal alongside Chloë Grace Moretz.
Following last week’s announcement that Chloë Grace Moretz will star in Carlota Pereda’s debut English-language film, The Edge of Normal, Deadline has reported that she now has her first co-star, Rupert Friend (Companion), joining the cast.
The film, inspired by Carla Norton’s novel, features Moretz as Reeve LeClaire, a woman haunted by her traumatic experience of being held captive as a teenager by a sadistic man. When her psychiatrist encourages her to mentor a recently rescued survivor, she becomes entangled in a disturbing game of cat-and-mouse that threatens to pull her back into the nightmare she barely escaped.
Details about Friend’s role remain undisclosed. It is anticipated that more information will emerge soon as casting progresses, with production set to commence in the next few weeks. Meanwhile, Friend, known for his roles in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Homeland, will appear next in Jurassic World: Rebirth and The Phoenician Scheme.
The screenplay for The Edge of Normal was penned by Matt Venne (Dexter: Resurrection), with revisions by Lori Evans Taylor (Final Destination: Bloodlines). Production is slated to start this spring, with XYZ Films taking on the production responsibilities.
