The newest installment in the cherished Dark Quest series is expected to be released this autumn.
UK-based developer Brain Seal has revealed that Dark Quest 4, the newest installment in the cherished Dark Quest series, is set to launch on PC and consoles this autumn. Drawing inspiration from classic board games like Hero Quest, Descent, and Dungeon Saga, Dark Quest 4 combines strategy, creativity, and engaging quests. Take a look at the new trailer below for a glimpse of the gameplay.
This forthcoming turn-based RPG dungeon crawler invites players to embark on an engaging adventure in a world reminiscent of traditional dungeon exploration. Players will assemble a party of three heroes and navigate through dungeons to complete meticulously designed missions. For those preferring to tackle challenges with others, they can team up with up to two friends to vanquish the dark forces lurking in the dungeons.
Players can anticipate over 30 hours of campaign missions presented in a tabletop board game format, featuring unique animated figures, delightful visuals, and a fully voiced dungeon master who can be seen off to one side of the ‘board’ (similar to Morcar in the 1991 HeroQuest video game by Gremlin).
Dark Quest 4 includes:
- A comprehensive story-driven campaign with distinctive quests and challenges.
- Multiplayer support for up to three players.
- Turn-based combat set in grid layout battles.
- A level editor and Steam workshop, enabling players to craft their own quests and share them with the community.
- An animated visual style that evokes the charm of traditional board games.
- The malevolent sorcerer serves as a narrator, casting glares at the board figures and enhancing the atmosphere of each game.
Dark Quest 4 is expected to launch on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC this autumn.
