Spider-Man 4 promises a 'Fresh Start' for Tom Holland's Peter Parker.
Tom Holland is set to return as Spider-Man in a film with a new title and release date. Director Destin Daniel Cretton (known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) will helm the upcoming fourth installment, titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This title was announced during the Sony Pictures showcase at this year's CinemaCon.
During the presentation, Cretton joked about losing “$200 at the roulette table” in Las Vegas, stating, “To say that it’s an honor to be standing on this stage is a pretty big understatement.” He shared his lifelong admiration for the character and expressed his attraction to Peter Parker’s “humor” and “messy humanity.” He described Brand New Day as “a ride that we haven’t really seen before.”
Tom Holland made a brief appearance via video message. He is currently working on Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey before shooting Spider-Man 4 in the summer. He expressed a “massive thank you for all of your support” and noted that “Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a fresh start.”
Details about the film are scarce, but it is known that Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna, who previously wrote the highly successful No Way Home, are penning the script. While not yet officially confirmed, reports suggest that Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink may star alongside Tom Holland in an unspecified role.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to be released in theaters on July 31, 2026.
