A Haunting Tale Emerges in the Exclusive Trailer for The Gullspång Miracle
A peculiar true story unfolds when two sisters purchase an apartment in a quaint Swedish town, only to discover that the seller bears a striking resemblance to their older sister, who tragically took her own life three decades ago. Maria Fredriksson’s highly regarded documentary, The Gullspång Miracle, which won the Best Editing award at the Tribeca Film Festival and was featured at the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, Visions du Réel International Film Festival, Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, Montclair Film Festival, among others, is set to be released next month. In anticipation of its digital launch on May 2 by Film Movement, we are excited to exclusively present the new trailer.
The synopsis reads: “A seemingly divine premonition leads Norwegian sisters Kari and May to purchase an apartment in the small Swedish town of Gullspång. To their astonishment, the seller closely resembles their older sister Astrid, who committed suicide thirty years prior. Even more strangely, this doppelgänger was known by the nickname “Lita,” the same as their late sister. What begins as a haunting tale of fate, belief, and remarkable coincidence soon turns into a Pandora’s Box of bizarre revelations and awkwardly humorous situations in this “captivating” and “unique” documentary that features “Lynchian echoes of Twin Peaks” (The Hollywood Reporter).”
