Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches has been renewed for a third season, which will be set in Salem.
AMC has renewed Mayfair Witches, the adaptation of Anne Rice’s Lives of Mayfair Witches trilogy, for a third season, changing its location. Starring Alexandra Daddario, the new season will move from New Orleans to Salem, Massachusetts, a location infamous for its superstitions and witch trials.
The third season will “explore the mythology of witchcraft more deeply, introduce new ‘spellbound’ families, and highlight some of the historical events of Salem, the well-known site of witch trials and folklore.”
Additionally, Tom Schnauz will join the series as co-showrunner alongside creator Esta Spalding. “I am excited to have Tom Schnauz join our team for the third season of Mayfair Witches. With a modern twist on the Salem story, it is sure to be our most captivating season yet,” stated Spalding.
“The drama and intricacies of the Mayfair family remain a fascinating and magical source for storytelling, and expanding that narrative against the backdrop of Salem, a historic hub of witchcraft, is an exhilarating next chapter for this series and our broader Anne Rice Immortal Universe,” remarked Dan McDermott, President of Entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks. “Tom Schnauz has a notable history with AMC, and we are thrilled to have him collaborate with the talented Esta Spalding and our Mayfair cast for a season that will delve into a broader realm of witchcraft and Mayfair family secrets as we continue to develop this dynamic franchise.”
The second season recently finished airing in early March. It is part of AMC’s Immortal Universe, which also includes its series adaptation of Rice’s Interview with the Vampire. The two shows had a minor crossover in Mayfair’s second season when a vampire character made a brief appearance, and a third series set in the universe, The Talamasca: The Secret Order, is currently in post-production for a Fall 2025 release.
Mayfair Witches stars Alexandra Daddario as Rowan Mayfair, Jack Huston as Lasher, Tongayi Chirisa as Ciprien Grieve, and Harry Hamlin as Cortland Mayfair. Season two will also feature Alyssa Jirrels as Moira Mayfair, Ted Levine as Julien Mayfair, Thora Birch as Gifford Mayfair, Ben Feldman as Sam Larkin, Callan McAuliffe as Abel Mayfair, Franka Potente as Annamieke, and Ian Pirie as Ian Mayfair.
