Michael Giacchino collaborates once again with Marvel's Werewolf By Night for the Blood Moon Rise comic.
Making his directorial debut with Marvel Studios’ Werewolf By Night Special Presentation on Disney+, Oscar-winning composer-turned-filmmaker Michael Giacchino is now venturing into comic book writing, delivering another tale of terror featuring Jack Russell. He is collaborating with artist David Messina (Ultimate Spider-Man) for the Marvel Comics one-shot, Werewolf By Night: Blood Moon Rise.
Giacchino commented on the comic, saying, “It could be a lost story from the original run, in a way. There’s a fun twist to it that I think will really intrigue fans of Jack Russell and that lore.”
WEREWOLF BY NIGHT: BLOOD MOON RISE highlights what makes Werewolf By Night a compelling Marvel figure, boasting over fifty years of comic book history and countless victims in his path! Besides Giacchino’s narrative, which sees the tormented hero facing Dracula, the one-shot will also feature a backup story by Jason Loo, who writes the current Werewolf By Night: Red Band comic series, celebrating the character’s past and future, along with various additional materials.

Werewolf By Night: Blood Moon Rise is set to be released on July 30th, 2025.
