
Netflix has officially renewed the animated series Devil May Cry for a second season.
A week after its debut on the streaming platform, Netflix has announced a second season renewal for Devil May Cry, the animated adaptation of the popular Capcom video game series.
Produced by Adi Shankar (Castlevania), Devil May Cry launched at #4 on Netflix’s global top ten list last week, attracting 5.3 million views within its first three days and making it into the top 10 in 87 different countries. Critics have also responded positively, with the series holding a 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, although its audience score is lower at 63% as of this writing.
Since the release of the first video game in 2001, Devil May Cry centers on an orphaned demon hunter named Dante, who is voiced in the animated series by Johnny Yong Bosch. The voice cast also includes Scout Taylor-Compton, Hoon Lee, Chris Coppola, and the late Kevin Conroy.
The first season of Devil May Cry is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
