In anticipation of its world premiere at Cannes this May, A24 has released the first trailer for Ari Aster’s contemporary western thriller Eddington, known for his works like Hereditary and Beau is Afraid. The film boasts a cast that includes Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Luke Grimes, Deirdre O’Connell, Micheal Ward, Austin Butler, and Emma Stone; you can watch the trailer below.
Set in May 2020, Eddington depicts a standoff between a small-town sheriff (Joaquin Phoenix) and the mayor (Pedro Pascal), igniting tensions as neighbors turn against one another in Eddington, New Mexico.
Eddington is set to hit theaters on July 18th.
