      Bloober Team has unveiled the first complete gameplay trailer for their forthcoming survival horror title, Cronos: The New Dawn. This latest trailer offers a chilling initial glimpse at the game’s THE MERGE mechanic, a new feature that alters how players engage with enemies in combat. Check out the new trailer below.

      Cronos: The New Dawn transports players through two distinct time periods — a devastated post-apocalyptic future and 1980s Poland. Players begin in the deteriorating area of New Dawn, influenced by Poland’s Nowa Huta, taking on the role of a Traveller, an agent for a shadowy collective from a dystopian future. Travellers are tasked with traveling back in time to rescue crucial individuals before they fall victim to the impending apocalypse. However, their mission is impeded by the grotesque and horrific entities known as the Orphans.

      As highlighted in the new trailer, enemies that are brought down don’t remain incapacitated for long. If players fail to incinerate their fallen foes, those bodies can be absorbed by other enemies through the Merging process. This mechanism allows enemies to evolve into quicker, more lethal, and terrifying beings with enhanced combat abilities.

      The trailer also offers a glimpse of the game’s weaponry and adversaries, all framed within a setting of decaying brutalist structures warped by reality-bending anomalies. Viewers will also encounter mysterious characters, each harboring their own motivations and secrets waiting to be unveiled.

      Cronos: The New Dawn is set to launch later this year for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
