The still-unnamed project is being prioritized at Universal Pictures, with the screenplay written by both filmmakers. Apatow is producing through Apatow Productions, thanks to its long-term partnership with Universal Pictures, while Powell and Dan Cohen produce for Barnstorm under their new first-look agreement with the studio.

      The film is characterized as a comedy that delves into the realm of country music, featuring Glen Powell as a country western star in turmoil.

      Apatow is currently working on a two-part HBO Documentary Films project about Mel Brooks, which he co-directs with Michael Bonfiglio. For those unfamiliar with Apatow, he is renowned for his popular films, such as Knocked Up and The 40-Year-Old Virgin.
