In 2001, Lucasfilm introduced Star Wars: The High Republic, a publishing endeavor that includes books and comics (and later expanding into television with Star Wars: The Acolyte and Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures), set in a fresh era of the galaxy far, far away, several centuries before the Skywalker Saga.
As revealed during the Star Wars Celebration in Japan last Friday at the Lucasfilm Publishing: Stories from a Galaxy Far, Far Away… panel, the storytelling initiative of The High Republic is scheduled to conclude this summer with the release of Marvel Comics' Star Wars: The High Republic – The Finale: The Beacon #1, a standalone comic written by Cavan Scott and illustrated by Marika Cresta.
