In advance of its release on Prime Video this May, a trailer for the dystopian drama The Assessment has been released online. The film follows a couple as they endure a rigorous seven-day evaluation to earn the right to have a child in a future where parenthood is tightly regulated. Directed by Fleur Fortuné, the cast features Alicia Vikander, Elizabeth Olsen, Himesh Patel, Minnie Driver, Indira Varma, Nicholas Pinnock, Charlotte Ritchie, and Leah Harvey.
Set in a future where parenting is heavily monitored, the couple’s week-long assessment for the right to become parents spirals into a psychological ordeal, compelling them to reconsider the basic principles of their society and the essence of humanity itself.
