Eerie mannequins unveiled in the latest trailer for The 18th Attic.

Steelkrill Studio has unveiled a new teaser trailer for their eagerly awaited title, The 18th Attic. This trailer offers a first glimpse at one of the game's most frightening entities, the mannequins. These creatures, reminiscent of “Weeping Angels,” become immobile when observed but will pursue you as soon as you look away.

While visible to the player, the mannequins appear to be lifeless, but if you turn away or lower your camera, they'll creep closer with sinister intent. This gameplay mechanic introduces an additional layer of psychological tension and highlights the importance of photography and the camera as crucial defenses. As the Doctor suggested in the 2007 Doctor Who episode "Blink," "Don't turn your back, don't look away, and DON'T blink."

The presence of mannequins, along with various paranormal phenomena such as shifting shadows, ghostly figures, and mysterious disturbances, can understandably create significant mental strain. Luckily, players can take a moment to relax and pet their cat to help alleviate stress and calm their nerves.

In The 18th Attic, players assume the role of a man trapped in a looping reality, and the only way to unlock a new memory that leads to escape is by tracking down paranormal anomalies using an instant camera. Capture images of these anomalies with the camera, but be cautious as some will attempt to deceive you, while others may launch an attack. Be mindful not to run out of film, or the haunting chase could come to a swift end.

Keep an eye out for The 18th Attic, set to release soon on Steam for PC. Visit the game's Steam page to add it to your Wishlist.
