Final Destination: Bloodlines achieves the franchise's highest box office opening weekend.

Who would have guessed that the sixth installment of Final Destination would turn out to be such a huge success? With Bloodlines premiering this past weekend, the long-established horror franchise has reached new levels of achievement.

Achieving the fourth-best opening weekend of the year so far and ranking among the top ten best horror openings in history, Final Destination: Bloodlines has made a strong debut at the box office this weekend, earning $51 million. It will also generate another $51 million from international markets, bringing its global opening total to approximately $102 million.

Considering its $40 million budget and a break-even point of around $100 million, it is already proving to be a success for Warner Bros. This installment easily boasts the franchise's best opening, surpassing 2009’s The Final Destination, which previously held the top spot with a $27 million debut. It remains to be seen if it could surpass the franchise's best total, with the highest-grossing entry to date being the 2009 film, which earned about $187 million.
