Sony Pictures has unveiled the initial trailer for Darren Aronofsky’s crime thriller, Caught Stealing.
Inspired by Charlie Huston’s novel of the same name, the film features Austin Butler as Hank, a former baseball star who becomes a target of New York City’s dangerous underworld after his neighbor requests him to look after his cat while he travels back to London for a few days.
Alongside Butler, the cast includes Zoë Kravitz, Matt Smith, Regina King, Liev Schreiber, Vincent D’Onofrio, Griffin Dunne, Benito A Martínez Ocasio, and Carol Kane. Watch the trailer below…
Hank Thompson (Austin Butler) was once a promising high school baseball player who can no longer compete in the sport; however, his life seems to be on track otherwise. He’s dating a wonderful girl (Zoë Kravitz), working as a bartender at a dive bar in New York, and his favorite baseball team is making an unexpected push for the pennant.
When his punk-rock neighbor Russ (Matt Smith) asks him to look after his cat for a few days, Hank unexpectedly finds himself entangled with a diverse group of menacing gangsters, all of whom want something from him, though he is bewildered as to why. As Hank tries to elude their tightening grip, he must rely on his wits to survive long enough to uncover the truth…
Caught Stealing is set to hit theaters on August 29th.
