With just over a month until Jurassic World Rebirth debuts in theaters, a new featurette has been released online for the action-adventure blockbuster. This behind-the-scenes glimpse includes insights from director Gareth Edwards and stars Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali, as well as visual effects supervisor David Vickery, discussing the process of bringing dinosaurs to life on screen; watch it below…
Set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, Earth's ecosystems have largely become unwelcoming for dinosaurs. The remaining dinosaurs inhabit isolated equatorial regions with climates similar to their original habitats. The three largest creatures across land, sea, and air in this tropical environment hold, within their DNA, the secret to a drug that could offer remarkable, life-saving advantages for humanity.
Academy Award® nominee Johansson portrays Zora Bennett, a skilled covert operations expert hired to lead a proficient team on a secret mission to obtain genetic material. When Zora’s mission overlaps with a civilian family whose boating trip was interrupted by attacking aquatic dinosaurs, they find themselves stranded on a forbidden island that once contained an undisclosed research facility for Jurassic Park. There, among a range of different dinosaur species, they uncover a chilling and shocking revelation that has been concealed from the world for years.
Ali plays Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s most reliable team member; Critics Choice and Olivier Award winner Jonathan Bailey (Wicked, Bridgerton) takes on the role of paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis; Emmy nominee Rupert Friend (Homeland, Obi-Wan Kenobi) plays Martin Krebs, a representative of Big Pharma, while Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer, Murder on the Orient Express) plays Reuben Delgado, the father of the shipwrecked family.
The cast also includes Luna Blaise (Manifest), David Iacono (The Summer I Turned Pretty), and Audrina Miranda (Lopez vs. Lopez) as Reuben’s family. Additionally, members of Zora and Krebs’ teams include Philippine Velge (Station Eleven), Bechir Sylvain (BMF), and Ed Skrein (Deadpool).
