Mia Goth is set to join Shawn Levy's Star Wars: Starfighter.
Mia Goth has explored many peculiar realms, but she is set to enter her most cosmic one yet as she joins the forthcoming Star Wars film directed by Shawn Levy.
Star Wars: Starfighter, which also features Ryan Gosling, has welcomed Mia Goth to its cast. The news was first reported by InSneider, with THR later confirming that Goth will take on the role of a villain who is after a young character portrayed by Gosling. Previously, Oscar-winner Mikey Madison was in talks for the part, but negotiations fell through over financial issues.
Goth is primarily recognized for her contributions to independent cinema and has earned the title of a modern scream queen thanks to Ti West’s trilogy: X, Pearl, and MaXXXine.
Later this year, she will appear in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein alongside Jacob Elordi and Oscar Isaac [watch the trailer here], in addition to featuring in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey with Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, and Robert Pattinson.
Star Wars: Starfighter will be Levy's debut in the Star Wars universe, although he has previously worked within the Disney framework on the successful Deadpool and Wolverine projects. The screenplay for the film has been written by Jonathan Tropper, and it is expected to be a standalone story set five to six years after the Sequel Trilogy events.
Production is slated to begin in the fall, with a theatrical release planned for May 28, 2027.
