Mutadons evoke Spielberg's influence in the newest TV spot for Jurassic World Rebirth.

      As we race towards the July premiere of Gareth Edwards' Jurassic World Rebirth, Universal Pictures is unveiling more of the terrifying creatures that inhabit this forgotten island. They've released a new TV spot showcasing evolved velociraptors stalking their prey in a familiar backdrop.

      The Mutadons, described by writer David Koepp as Raptors with wings, are depicted hunting in an industrial kitchen reminiscent of the iconic scene from the 1993 classic, even leaving their breath fogging up a glass pane. The remainder of the teaser, which can be viewed below, features aquatic sequences reminiscent of Spielberg’s Jaws, as well as glimpses of the much-anticipated river raft scene, which fans have been eager to see since Michael Crichton’s 1990 novel was published.

      Set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the world’s ecology has largely become inhospitable for dinosaurs. Those that survive are found in isolated equatorial locales with climates resembling their original habitats. The three largest creatures found within this tropical biosphere hold the key to a life-saving drug within their DNA.

      Academy Award® nominee Johansson portrays Zora Bennett, a highly skilled covert operations expert hired to lead a team on a secret mission to acquire this genetic material. When Zora’s mission intersects with a civilian family whose boating trip was disrupted by aggressive aquatic dinosaurs, they all become stranded on a forbidden island that once hosted an undisclosed research facility for Jurassic Park. Here, in a landscape populated by various species of dinosaurs, they confront a shocking and sinister secret that has remained hidden from the world for decades.

      Ali plays Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s most trusted team member; Critics Choice and Olivier Award winner Jonathan Bailey (Wicked, Bridgerton) plays paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis; Emmy nominee Rupert Friend (Homeland, Obi-Wan Kenobi) appears as Big Pharma representative Martin Krebs, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer, Murder on the Orient Express) portrays Reuben Delgado, the father of the shipwrecked family.

      The cast also includes Luna Blaise (Manifest), David Iacono (The Summer I Turned Pretty), and Audrina Miranda (Lopez vs. Lopez) as members of Reuben’s family. Additionally, Zora’s and Krebs’ teams feature Philippine Velge (Station Eleven), Bechir Sylvain (BMF), and Ed Skrein (Deadpool).

      Jurassic World Rebirth is set to roar into theaters on July 2nd.
