First Teaser for Paul Greengrass' The Lost Bus Features Matthew McConaughey on a Heroic Journey

Since the highly praised 2013 film Captain Phillips, Paul Greengrass's career has seen some ups and downs. He made an unnecessary return to the Bourne series, experienced a setback with 22 July, and dealt with the pandemic-affected release of News of the World. Now, five years later, he is making a comeback with what is hoped to be a compelling project. The Lost Bus, written by Brad Inglesby and inspired by Lizzie Johnson’s book Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire, is set to be released this fall in theaters and on Apple TV+. The first trailer has just been revealed ahead of the premiere.

The synopsis reads: “The Lost Bus is a gripping tale set during one of America's deadliest wildfires, following a misguided school bus driver (Academy Award-winner Matthew McConaughey) and a devoted school teacher (Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe Award-winner America Ferrera) as they fight to rescue 22 children from the terrifying blaze.”

“The Lost Bus is a narrative of quiet bravery — depicting individuals uniting in the face of the unimaginable. I feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to tell this story,” Greengrass shares.

The film also features Yul Vazquez, Ashlie Atkinson, and Spencer Watson. Check out the teaser below.
