Irem Collection Volume 3 will release classic titles for consoles this July.

      ININ, Tozai Games, and Irem are set to launch the third volume of the Irem Collection on July 1st for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox. The Irem Collection Volume 3 will showcase fantasy-themed shoot 'em ups that will test players' abilities, including Mr. Heli, Mystic Riders, and Dragon Breed. A new trailer is available below…

      In contrast to the first two volumes of the Irem Collection, this edition features several fantasy-inspired titles that were quite popular in the arcade era.

      In Mr. Heli, players control a small helicopter equipped with substantial firepower. Originally released in arcades in 1987, Mr. Heli captured the hearts of gamers with its “cute ‘em up” style, intricate maps, hidden paths, an impressive weapon arsenal, and colossal bosses. As players advanced, they would mine crystals, accumulate cash, and invest that money in upgrading their weapons. Its popularity allowed it to gain fans worldwide across nearly all platforms.

      Released in 1992, Mystic Riders is a fantasy shooter that has players flying on broomsticks, battling massive sky turtles, fiery demons, and various other mythical beings. Gamers navigate vibrant worlds, using their broomsticks to block projectiles, dodge-rolling past dangers, and attacking anything that threatens them. Players can also team up in local co-op, with one person taking to the skies as Mark the wizard or Zeal the witch.

      Dragon Breed, a 1989 arcade classic, puts players in combat while riding the biomechanical dragon Bahamoot. This powerful mechanical creature not only protects players from harm but also incinerates everything in its path. While it wasn't as widely recognized at the time as other shoot 'em ups, Dragon Breed was sufficiently popular to warrant conversion to home platforms.

      The Irem Collection Volume 3 will offer optional controller enhancements, including rapid-fire button assignments and customizable controls. Players can take advantage of quick save/load functionality and built-in rewind features, as well as showcase their skills on online leaderboards.

      Irem Collection Volume 3 is currently available for pre-order and will launch on July 1st. The first two volumes of the Irem Collection are also available on consoles.
