Vampirella will debut a new story arc titled 'Identitatem' in September.

      Dynamite Entertainment has revealed that Christopher Priest’s long-running story on Vampirella will continue this September with a new narrative arc titled ‘Identitatem’. This new chapter offers readers an ideal entry point into the ongoing saga of the Daughter of Drakulon in Vampirella #7 (legacy numbering #682).

      Vampirella is not only a woman but also a vampire and an alien. In a contemporary world where the quest for self-identity is crucial, the Daughter of Drakulon finds herself in turmoil, questioning whether she is even a true person.

      Initially created by her mother Lilith as a near-exact clone of her first daughter Draculina, this situation raises an intriguing question: does Vampirella actually possess a living soul? Does she hold all the rights and obligations of personhood, or is she simply a creation born from dark sorcery, now a purposeless shell, having served her mother's design?

      In the aftermath of the shocking events in “The Long Night,” the troubled vampire seeks solace on the small Caribbean island of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, accompanied by her friend and lover, The Saint — last featured in Vampirella: Year One. There, she encounters a formidable sentient artificial being known as Aris, who is attempting to resurrect the mysterious Host, an alien entity with which Vampirella had a brief connection in a previous tale. As this being explores Vampirella’s mind, her deepest fears come into conflict with Aris’ own confident acceptance of a non-personhood.
