Ransom Canyon has been renewed for a second season on Netflix.

      More than two months after its debut on Netflix, the streaming platform has renewed its latest Western drama, Ransom Canyon, for a second season.

      Adapted from Jodi Thomas’ novel series, the show features Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly and explores the intertwined secrets, love, and lives of three ranching families in the vibrant mesas of Texas Hill Country.

      April Blair, who created the series, serves as its showrunner and executive producer. Prior to its launch, a writers' room for the second season was already established, and production is set to start in September. The writers for the first season included Blair, Joe Fazzio, Paul Haapaniemi, Laura Nava, and Lucas Rojas, with directors Amanda Marsalis, David McWhirter, Meera Menon, and Michael Offer. It is unclear how many of these writers will return for the second season or whether the directors will resume their roles for the upcoming episodes.

      Ransom Canyon stars Josh Duhamel, Minka Kelly, James Brolin, Eoin Macken, Lizzy Greene, Marianly Tejada, Jack Schumacher, Garrett Wareing, Andrew Liner, Jaren Robledo, Casey W. Johnson, Jennifer Ens, Brett Cullen, Kate Burton, Niko Guardado, Philip Winchester, Justin Johnson Cortez, and Kenneth Miller.
