Hulu has unveiled a poster and trailer for Washington Black, an upcoming adventure series adapted from Esi Edugyan's novel of the same title.
Washington Black tells the story of 11-year-old George Washington “Wash” Black, a bright young boy with a remarkable scientific intellect, who escapes the Barbados sugar plantation where he was born after a traumatic event, embarking on an adventure that spans the globe.
The cast includes Ernest Kingsley Jr. as George Washington Black, Rupert Graves as Mr. Goff, Iola Evans as Tanna Goff, Edward Bluemel as William McGee, Sharon Duncan Brewster as Miss Angie, Eddie Karanja as Young Washington Black, Tom Ellis as Titch, and Sterling K. Based on the bestselling novel, Washington Black chronicles the 19th-century journey of George Washington “Wash” Black, an 11-year-old boy from a Barbados sugar plantation, whose extraordinary scientific abilities lead him toward an unforeseen destiny. Washington Black is set to premiere on Hulu on July 23rd.
