      Mark Gatiss (Sherlock, The League of Gentlemen) is set to star in Bookish, a new British mystery drama that he is also writing. The trailer for this upcoming series features Gatiss as Gabriel Book, an eccentric bookshop owner who works as a detective assisting the police in solving various scandalous cases.       Taking place in post-WW2 London, Gabriel Book aids the police in unraveling their most challenging cases. He is a gay man in an era when homosexuality was criminalized, and is in a lavender marriage with his childhood friend Trottie, portrayed by Polly Walker from Bridgerton.

      Bookish also stars Connor Finch (Everything I Know About Love) as Book’s new assistant Jack, as well as Elliot Levey (Quiz) and Daniel Mays (Rogue One). The trailer includes guest appearances from Joely Richardson (Nip/Tuck) and Paul McGann (Luther).

      Bookish is scheduled to premiere on July 16th.
