      As Lilo & Stitch approaches the billion-dollar milestone, Disney has officially announced a sequel, strategically revealing this news on June 26, the same date linked to Stitch's Experiment 626.

      The original Lilo & Stitch was a significant success at the box office, something Hollywood has needed this year. It earned over $923 million globally, from a budget of around $100 million. The film debuted with $341 million worldwide, including a domestic opening weekend of $145.5 million. It ranks among the best openings for a Disney remake and performed similarly to other live-action adaptations.

      While the financial success is evident, the response has been mixed, with many expressing dissatisfaction regarding changes made from the original 2002 film. Whether Disney can rectify these concerns in the sequel remains to be seen. An official announcement of the sequel can be found below…
