Some unfortunate news has emerged this evening as it has been confirmed that actor Julian McMahon has passed away at the age of 56 after battling cancer.
Born in Sydney, Australia in 1968 to future Australian Prime Minister Billy McMahon, Julian began his acting career with parts in the Australian soap operas The Power, The Passion, and Home and Away before relocating to the United States in the 1990s, where he appeared in television series such as Another World and Profiler.
He gained significant fame from his performances in the TV dramas Charmed and Nip/Tuck, which paved the way for film opportunities, most notably portraying the Marvel villain Victor Von Doom, also known as Doctor Doom, in 2005's Fantastic Four and 2007's Rise of the Silver Surfer.

“My beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a courageous fight against cancer,” shared his wife, Kelly McMahon, in a statement. “Julian had a passion for life, cherished his family and friends, embraced his work, and adored his fans. His greatest desire was to spread joy to as many people as possible. We request privacy for our family during this time of grieving, and we hope that everyone whom Julian brought happiness continues to find joy in life. We are thankful for the memories.”
