The upcoming dramedy The Pirate King has finalized its cast to join Rob Riggle (Step Brothers) and Jordana Brewster (Fast & Furious).
New additions include Billie Lourd (American Horror Story), Matt Barr (Walker), Elizabeth Tulloch (Superman & Lois), Nichole Sakura (Superstore), Leander Suleiman (Saturday Night), Annabeth Gish (Before I Wake), Brett Cullen (Joker), Chris Witaske (The Bear), and country music artist Craig Morgan, with Adele Abinante making her feature film debut.
The Pirate King centers on Riggle’s character, Todd, a Marine veteran dealing with PTSD and addiction who encounters unexpected redemption by participating in a group of pirate reenactors. This opportunity allows him to fight for custody of his daughter and reconstruct the life he believed he had lost. Abinante will portray Todd’s daughter, Emmylou.
Josh Plasse (The Baxters) will direct the film from his own screenplay. The narrative is based on a story by Brev Moss, inspired by the real-life exploits of pirate Captain Todd Willis. Filming is currently taking place in Virginia Beach.
