Danai Gurira is set to join Michael B. Jordan in The Thomas Crown Affair.
A day after securing Kenneth Branagh and Lily Gladstone for key roles, Michael B. Jordan's remake of the heist drama *The Thomas Crown Affair* has now cast Danai Gurira, known for *The Walking Dead* and the MCU, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
*The Thomas Crown Affair* tells the story of "a wealthy thrill-seeker who orchestrates a high-stakes robbery purely for the thrill, only to find himself involved in a complicated cat-and-mouse game with a clever investigator." The screenplay has been penned by Drew Pierce, based on an earlier version by Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson.
In the film, Jordan, who is also directing, will play Thomas Crown alongside Taylor Russell (from *Bones and All*) as the private investigator involved in their complex and taboo romance. Branagh is reported to be taking on the role of the antagonist, while Gurira will portray Thomas Crown’s confidante; details regarding Gladstone's character are currently undisclosed.
Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo are producing the film for Outlier Society, in collaboration with Charles Roven for Atlas Entertainment. Alan Trustman, who wrote the original 1968 *Thomas Crown*, will serve as an executive producer. Filming is set to occur in Europe, aiming for a release on March 5th, 2027.
