The upcoming Marvel and Disney crossover features the Fantastic Four teaming up with the Gargoyles.
Marvel Comics has officially revealed its upcoming Disney crossover as the First Family joins forces with a cherished 90s animated series in Fantastic Four/Gargoyles #1, a brand new one-shot comic from Gargoyles creator Greg Weisman and artist Enid Balam.
“It feels incredibly fitting to have the First Family of the Marvel Universe meet the First Family of the Gargoyles Universe, namely the Manhattan Clan,” said Weisman. “These two groups of heroes, both based in Midtown Manhattan – one from the Baxter Building and the other from the Eyrie Building – share so many similarities. Moreover, in both significant and minor ways, Stan & Jack’s Fantastic Four clearly influenced the creation of Gargoyles in the early ‘90s. Working on this project truly awakened the joyful child within me. IT’S BEEN A BLAST!”
Alongside Marvel's Fantastic Four/Gargoyles #1, Dynamite Entertainment (the current publisher of Gargoyles comics) will release its own Gargoyles/Fantastic Four crossover one-shot in October, which will take place in the same continuity.
Trouble arises when the supervillain Diablo discovers that stone gargoyles might contain the key to eternal life… but the Gargoyles are determined to stop him from draining them! Luckily, they are joined by expert Diablo-defeaters – the Fantastic Four! Additionally, Tony Stark and David Xanatos engage in a facial hair comparison, Marvel’s own Gargoyle, Isaac Christians, connects with his newfound family, and more!
Fantastic Four/Gargoyles #1 is set to be available in October 2025.
