With Noah Hawley's Alien: Earth set to premiere on a streaming service near you next month, FX and Disney+ are offering a detailed behind-the-scenes look at the highly anticipated action-horror series with this featurette.
The eight-episode series originates from the creativity of the Fargo creator and is produced by Sir Ridley Scott, who established the Alien franchise in 1979.
The talented cast of Alien: Earth includes Sydney Chandler as Wendy, along with Timothy Olyphant (Kirsh), Alex Lawther (Hermit), Samuel Blenkin (Boy Kavalier), Babou Ceesay (Morrow), Adrian Edmondson (Atom Eins), David Rysdahl (Arthur Sylvia), Essie Davis (Dame Sylvia), Lily Newmark (Nibs), Erana James (Curly), Adarsh Gourav (Slightly), Jonathan Ajayi (Smee), Kit Young (Tootles), Diêm Camille (Siberian), Moe Bar-El (Rashidi), and Sandra Yi Sencindiver (Yutani). When the mysterious deep-space research ship USCSS Maginot crash-lands on Earth, “Wendy” (Sydney Chandler) and a mismatched group of tactical soldiers make a crucial discovery that brings them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest danger in FX’s “Alien: Earth.”
In the year 2120, Earth is ruled by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold. During this Corporate Era, cyborgs (humans with both biological and mechanical components) and synthetics (humanoid robots with artificial intelligence) coexist with humans. However, the situation shifts dramatically when the visionary Founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unveils a groundbreaking technological advancement: hybrids (humanoid robots infused with human consciousness). The first hybrid prototype, named “Wendy,” signifies a new era in the quest for immortality. Following a collision between a Weyland-Yutani spaceship and Prodigy City, “Wendy” and the other hybrids encounter terrifying life forms beyond anyone’s imagination.
