Isabelle Huppert Stars in Her First Solo Performance in Exclusive Trailer for Michael Rozek’s Marianne, to be Screened in New York on July 30.
Update: The premiere of Marianne in New York is scheduled for July 30 at the Emily Harvey Foundation, with Michael Rozek participating in a Q&A session following the screening. Tickets are free, and further details can be found here. The original story follows.
With 50 years in the industry, over 150 films, and an impressive roster of directors, Isabelle Huppert seems to have accomplished everything—so I was surprised to learn that she has yet to perform in a one-woman show. This makes Michael Rozek’s Marianne particularly unique, as it features the renowned actress delivering a metatextual, nearly Brechtian monologue for 90 minutes. Although the film has not yet been distributed in the U.S., it will be available for streaming on Eventive from July 16 to July 23, including my hour-long interview with Rozek discussing the film, its background, and Huppert’s talent. In anticipation of this, we are excited to exclusively present a trailer.
Michael Rozek states, “Marianne is a remarkable event. It marks Isabelle Huppert’s very first solo project—a stunning showcase for one of the greatest actresses in cinematic history—and, with its innovative format, it embodies the spirit of the times we are all experiencing.”
