The initial appearance of Darth Maul in the Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord series.
As the second day of San Diego Comic-Con unfolds, Lucasfilm has provided fans with a first glimpse of the beloved villain Darth Maul in his own series, Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord.
The series is set after the conclusion of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which depicted Maul's escape from Republic custody right as his former master carried out Order 66 against the Jedi. With his criminal empire and Mandalorian army in ruins, Shadow Lord will follow Maul as he attempts to reclaim his power in the criminal underworld.
There are few details available about the series, but it has been revealed that Maul will take on a new apprentice, Darth Talon, a Twi'Lek Sith Lord transitioning from the old Star Wars Legends continuity into the official timeline. Additionally, the former Inquisitor Marrok will also appear, having been introduced in the first season of Ahsoka while collaborating with Baylan Skoll and his apprentice Shin Hati.
Sam Witwer provided the voice for Maul in The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, and his cameo in Solo: A Star Wars Story. He is set to reprise the role for Maul – Shadow Lord, which is anticipated to premiere in 2026.
