Netflix has renewed Wednesday for a third season.
With just a few weeks left until the debut of the second season, Netflix has already chosen to expand its offerings with an early renewal for a third season of the Jenna Ortega-led spinoff of The Addams Family, Wednesday.
“It’s been a dark delight to see Wednesday enchant audiences worldwide — one deadpan quip at a time,” stated creators and showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. “We are extremely excited for her return to haunt the halls of Nevermore in Season 3. This time, she will uncover more of the school’s ominous secrets — and delve even deeper into the Addams family crypt. Or, as Wednesday might say: ‘Nothing brings a family together quite like a good exhumation.’”

Inspired by the beloved characters created by Charles Addams and produced by Tim Burton (who also directs several episodes), Wednesday features Jenna Ortega as the eldest daughter of Gomez and Morticia, detailing her experiences at the private establishment Nevermore Academy. The first season was a major hit, earning four Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, and became Netflix's third most-watched original series, following Squid Game and Stranger Things.
Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) is back to roam the eerie corridors of Nevermore Academy, where new challenges and adversaries await her. In this season, Wednesday must face family, friends, and former foes, leading her into another year filled with delightfully dark and quirky chaos. Equipped with her trademark razor-sharp wit and deadpan demeanor, Wednesday also finds herself ensnared in a new spine-tingling supernatural mystery.
Season 2 of Wednesday sees Jenna Ortega reprise her role, along with returning cast members Steve Buscemi, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Luis Guzmán, Hunter Doohan, Billie Piper, Isaac Ordonez, Victoria Dorobantu, Georgie Farmer, Moosa Mostafa, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, Noah Taylor, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, featuring guest appearances from Lady Gaga, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Jamie McShane, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, Joonas Suotamo, as well as Fred Armisen and Christopher Lloyd.
Part 1 of Wednesday Season 2 will be available to stream on Netflix starting August 6th, with Part 2 following on September 3rd.
