
The trailer for DC's animated movie, Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires, was revealed at Comic-Con.
At the San Diego Comic-Con International on Thursday, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment revealed the first trailer for Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires.
This DC animated film takes place during the Aztec Empire and follows a young boy named Yohualli Coatl, who utilizes the temple of the bat god Tzinacan as his base to train and create his own gear with guidance from his mentor. He takes on the persona of 'Batman' in pursuit of revenge for his father's murder at the hands of Spanish Conquistadors.
Directed by Juan Meza-León, the movie showcases the voice performances of Horacio Garcia Rojas, Omar Chaparro, and Álvaro Morte. You can view the trailer below.
Set in the Aztec Empire, the story begins with the tragic murder of Yohualli's father, Toltecatzin, the village leader, by Spanish Conquistadors. Yohualli escapes to Tenochtitlan to alert King Moctezuma and his high priest, Yoka, about the impending threat. In the temple of Tzinacan, he trains with his mentor and assistant, Acatzin, crafting equipment and weaponry to fight against the Spanish invasion, safeguard Moctezuma’s temple, and avenge his father's death.
Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires is scheduled to premiere on HBO Max on September 18, 2025.
