Eli Roth's Hostel television series has secured its spot on Peacock.
It has been a year since we last received news about Eli Roth’s TV series based on his Hostel franchise, but now we have a significant update as Variety reports that it will be available on NBC's streaming service, Peacock.
Released in 2006, Hostel followed a group of young American travelers in Europe. Their trip takes a gruesome turn after they are recommended a hostel by other tourists, which is revealed to be a location where the wealthy torture, mutilate, and kill foreign guests. The film was succeeded by two sequels released in 2007 and 2011.
Last year, it was announced that Paul Giamatti would star in the Hostel series, with Roth attached to write, direct, and serve as an executive producer. Original producers Chris Briggs and Mike Fleiss are also set to return for the television adaptation.
While exact plot details remain undisclosed, the series will likely portray more tourists arriving at a hostel for a horrific and deadly experience. Given the franchise’s history of character fatalities, it's possible that Hostel will evolve into an anthology series featuring different groups and their shared fates at the lethal hostels.
