Eli Roth's The Horror Section has released a trailer for Dream Eater.
The first trailer and a poster have been released for Dream Eater, the second feature film from Eli Roth's newly established production company, The Horror Section, following this month's Jimmy and Stiggs.
Written and directed by Jay Drakulic, Mallory Drumm, and Alex Lee Williams, this found footage horror film follows a documentary filmmaker who films her partner's violent parasomnia while they vacation at a secluded mountain cabin. As his condition deteriorates, she begins to suspect that something more malevolent might be involved.
Eli Roth shares, “I can clearly recall every film that truly terrified me. I remember standing on 25th Street in New York City when my friend Kevin Foxe handed me a VHS of a film he produced that had just made it into Sundance, called The Blair Witch Project, and that night I had to sleep with the lights on. I also remember watching a screener of Paranormal Activity while filming Inglourious Basterds in my apartment in Berlin, and I was so scared that I had to pass it on to Quentin to shock him as well. And then there was Dream Eater—watching this movie alone in my house made me turn on the lights because it was that frightening.”
He adds, “It has been ages since I have been genuinely terrified by a film to that extent that I had almost forgotten what that feeling was like. What these three filmmakers have accomplished is not just exceptional given the low-budget DIY filmmaking; they have achieved the ultimate goal in horror, which is to create a movie that completely terrifies you. I was so impressed that I shared the film with everyone at The Horror Section, and we all concurred that this is 'the one.' I truly believe Dream Eater will be the scariest film of the year and has the potential to become the next Paranormal Activity or The Blair Witch Project.”

The story centers on Mallory (Drumm), a documentary filmmaker who travels to a remote mountain cabin with her boyfriend Alex (Williams) to capture his violent parasomnia on film. As his condition escalates, Mallory begins to fear that something more sinister is at work. As the nightmares intensify, so do the frights, right to the final moment.
Dream Eater is set to hit theaters on October 24th.
