      BFI Distribution has released a poster and trailer for the forthcoming thriller Islands, directed by Jan-Ole Gerster.

      Sam Riley plays the role of Tom, a once-prominent tennis professional who is now a coach at a luxury holiday resort in the Canary Islands. Dissatisfied with his life there, he spends his time drinking and engaging in brief flings until he encounters Anne (Stacey Martin) and Dave (Jack Farthing), a mysterious couple who check into the hotel. This meeting leads Tom into a series of events culminating in a disappearance. You can watch the trailer below.

      The film centers on Tom (Sam Riley), a former professional tennis player who now coaches at an all-inclusive hotel in Fuerteventura, located in the Canary Islands. What began as a fantasy of endless summers has devolved into a dull routine. With tourists cycling in and out, Tom attempts to fill the void with short-lived romances and alcohol. The arrival of the enigmatic Anne (Stacey Martin) and her husband Dave (Jack Farthing), along with their young son, sets them apart from typical vacationers. As Tom forms a connection with them, he becomes embroiled in a mystery when Dave disappears without a trace and Anne's behavior grows increasingly unstable.

      Islands is set to hit UK theaters on September 12th.
