While it may not be the grand cinematic comeback that fans have eagerly anticipated, Friday the 13th enthusiasts can still celebrate as Jason Voorhees breaks free from the franchise's many legal troubles that have kept him confined at the bottom of Crystal Lake for the past 16 years. He makes his return with a short film/vignette released under the newly established Jason Universe banner.
Debuting today on the Jason Universe YouTube channel to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the legendary horror franchise, this short film is Jason’s first official appearance since the 2009 Platinum Dunes reboot. It is directed by emerging horror reboot expert Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn, Silent Night, Deadly Night), with Schuyler White (Haunt) portraying the masked murderer, and Ally Ioannides (Into the Badlands) as the newest final girl, Eve. Enjoy…
