      A Lovecraftian horror lies in wait for the crew of the Enterprise as IDW Publishing unveils Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – The Seeds of Salvation, a new limited series from Robbie Thompson, a writer for Strange New Worlds season 4, alongside the artistic talent of Travis Mercer.       After trudging through a series of uneventful missions, Christine Chapel is eager for a genuine adventure. When she is presented with the chance to reunite with her old scientist friend Jinare for research on the planet Poilant, Chapel is thrilled to finally engage in what Starfleet excels at: exploring strange new worlds. However, upon the Enterprise's arrival in Poilant's vicinity, the crew is unable to contact Jinare or any of her team. Chapel, along with Una, Spock, La’An, and Scotty, beams down, only to find... emptiness... no one... and no evidence of what led to their disappearance, aside from a robot named D6 who encourages them to venture into the depths of the planet in search of his companions. Yet, there are more than just scientists hiding in the watery depths. Ancient creatures and giant monsters await — and they may present more adventure than even Chapel can manage.
