Wargaming marks a decade of World of Warships with a new update.
World of Warships has been delivering naval combat on the high seas for a full decade, and to mark this significant milestone, Wargaming has filled September’s update with a wealth of new content, substantial rewards, and much more. Check out the video below for a closer look at what update 14.8 entails.
Over the last ten years, World of Warships has accumulated over 1.2 billion hours of gameplay and has allowed players to command more than 800 historically accurate vessels. To celebrate this remarkable achievement, players can look forward to numerous free ships, bonuses, and additional rewards. There will be a Daily Login Calendar where players can earn rewards like Supercontainers, Coal, Credits, free experience, days of Premium Account access, and Festive Tokens by logging in daily. These tokens can be exchanged in the Armoury for Supercontainers, including the “Finest Hour,” “Resolute and Rapid,” “The Age of Sa Zhenbing,” or “Battle of Paso De Patria” Containers. Additionally, there are ships to acquire, such as the Tier X Japanese Premium heavy cruiser Kushiro.
Free Containers will also be offered, each containing a selection of rare ships. A special 10th Anniversary Gift Container will be available, guaranteeing a Tier VI ship. Players can earn a Premium Ship VII Container with a 10th anniversary Event Pass. For long-time players with five or more years of experience and at least 25 battles, a Premium Ship VIII Elite Container will be obtainable, and for those who have played throughout the entire decade, a Premium Ship X Elite Container will be up for grabs.
September’s update also introduces the limited-time game mode, Blast from the Past, which eliminates aircraft carriers and submarines to recreate the original experience, spanning six phases that showcase the game’s evolution over the years. There’s a new nostalgic Decade Dock Port featuring a decade's worth of Easter Eggs to discover. The “In the Name of Tomorrow” campaign is ongoing, and Asymmetric Battles are making a return.
Finally, a new line of German Cruisers is now available in Early Access. Players can command the Tier VI heavy cruiser Deutschland, Tier VII heavy cruiser Admiral Scheer, Tier VIII heavy cruiser Knesebeck, Tier IX heavy cruiser Manteuffel, and Tier X heavy cruiser Prinz Adalbert. These ships are designed for close combat with their powerful main battery guns, while their Secondary Batteries compensate for their limited range. They are equipped with Improved Hydroacoustic Search and high defenses.
