Netflix has decided to cancel Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft following its upcoming second season.
Following the announcement that Sophie Turner will portray the iconic video game character Lara Croft in Prime Video’s live-action Tomb Raider series, we have learned that we will say goodbye to Hayley Atwell’s animated version of the character with the second season of Netflix’s Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft.
Variety reports that the animated series, created by Legendary Television, will conclude with its upcoming second season, which is scheduled to be released on the streaming service on December 11th.
Along with Hayley Atwell, the voice cast for the second season of Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft includes Karen Fukuhara as Sam, O-T Fagbenle as Eshu, Allen Maldonado as Zip, and Earl Baylon as Jonah Maiava. The synopsis for season two states:
"When adventurer Lara Croft (voiced by Hayley Atwell) uncovers a trail of stolen African Orisha masks, she teams up with her best friend Sam (Karen Fukuhara) to recover the valuable artifacts. Lara’s exciting new journey takes her around the world as she explores the hidden secrets of Orisha history, evading the schemes of a dangerous and mysterious billionaire who desires the masks for herself, while uncovering the dark secrets and an illogical power these relics possess. A power that may, in fact, be divine."
